Believe it or not, fall classes are right around the corner! Get ready for move in with this college packing list, packed with all sorts of easy tips and tricks (pun intended).

BRING THIS! The Necessities

• Bathrobe, shower shoes/flip flops, towels, washcloths
• Cleaning supplies
  • TIP: Pack these last, they will be the first items you’ll need when moving in. You’ll want to wipe down the desk, closet, and vents immediately.
• Clothing hangers
  • TIP: For easy transfer of closet clothes, try this! Group clothing items in to about 10-20 garments on clothing hangers. Then, place a garbage bag around the items and wrap the bag’s handles around the hangers. This keeps the garments in place and makes for an easy move in. All you have to do from here is hang the clothes on the rack and tear off the bag.

• Command hooks/strips (These are essential for damage-free wall hanging)
  • TIP: Bring several packs of these to utilize throughout the year. They are perfect for posters, photos, frames, and more!
• Storage bins
  • TIP: Have these all packed BEFORE move in, label them with tape and group together corresponding to certain sections of the room.
• Storage drawers
  • TIP: Tape the drawers shut beforehand.
• Laptop
• Detergent and laundry bag/basket
• Extension cords, power strips
• XL Twin bed linens, mattress pad, blankets, cover, pillows
• First-aid supplies
• Mug, cups, dishes, cutlery
• Medications
• Toiletries, bathroom caddy
• Seasonal clothing
  • TIP: Plan your year out to only bring necessary clothing for the season, do NOT bring all your clothes at once. Swap clothes out for the appropriate season when you visit home. You will not have enough storage for all your clothes, guaranteed.
