Chapter Traditions: Mr. Larry’s Pizza Bar

by | Jan 18, 2019

A great meal or a great experience, provides a fraternity or sorority with the energy needed for a day of classes and studying, and also helps build bonds that last a lifetime.

When it comes to traditions within a chapter house’s kitchen, it may be hard to beat Mr. Larry’s Pizza Bar at Zeta Tau Alpha at University of North Carolina. For the better part of nearly two decades, every other Friday, Mr. Larry commands the kitchen.

“It is without words, one of the biggest hits of any meal I have personally seen during my tenure with Campus Cooks”, said Billy Angel, Regional Supervisor.

The process is simple: The women build their own pizza from ingredients provided and bring them up to the window. Mr. Larry fires them up and when they are ready, shouts, “Pizzas Up!”

“It was fun to see the women run up, smiling. The dining room is packed and the atmosphere is buzzing. It is just a really fun meal to watch unfold.”

With Campus Cooks you get more than a great meal plan – you get a team of professionals who dedicate themselves to enhancing the entire Greek experience!

Thank you, Mr. Larry for providing that experience for the past 15 years, and to the current group of women in the chapter.
