Possible Food Service Delivery Delays Due to Hurricane Harvey

by | Aug 13, 2017

At Campus Cooks, nothing is more important than the health and safety of our clients and staff members. It is with this in mind that we want to inform any chapters that may be affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Due to Hurricane Harvey and the historic flooding taking place in the south, US Foods shipments that occur out of distribution centers in the Houston, Texas area are not able to deliver supplies directly to the accounts that they normally serve. They have been working hard to reroute supplies from distribution centers in the Austin, Texas area, but will most likely not be able to support everyone that the Houston distribution center supplies.

With that being said, Campus Cooks is taking the following measures to ensure that no meals are missed:

– We have employed more local food service companies to obtain supplies needed to maintain service.
– We have increased our Chefs’ ability to source from local grocery stores and specialty stores in their areas.
– All Regional Supervisors are aware and working proactively with the kitchens affected to ensure service continues smoothly.
