Campus Cooks Partners with Delta Zeta for Dance Marathon “Guac Drop” Event

by | Feb 16, 2017

Now in its 43rd year, the Northwestern University Dance Marathon is one of the largest and most well established student-run philanthropies in the nation. Since its founding in 1975, Northwestern students have raised over $17 million in support of 34 different beneficiaries, annually raising over $1 million for each of the last six years. This year’s partner is GiGi’s Playhouse, a nationwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers that impact the lives of children and adults with Down syndrome through free educational and therapeutic programs. Northwestern University’s Dance Marathon will be taking place during the weekend of March 3rd – 5th. On the night of Wednesday, February 8th, students on the Northwestern University food committee set up shop to cook cheese quesadillas, and package them with chips, guacamole, and soda. The ingredients, generously donated by Campus Cooks, were delivered as food packages on and off campus, as study snacks or delicious late night meals. Delta Zeta managed to raise over $2,300 for Dance Marathon, an impressive sum for a one-night food philanthropy event! Everybody involved had a fantastic time cooking, delivering, and satisfying their hunger while donating to a worthwhile cause!
